The Belconnen Community Council is pleased to present our budget submission for the upcoming 2024-2025 ACT Budget.
Drawing on the voices of our pre-budget community survey with over 150 responses, and ongoing community engagement, we make recommendations for the ACT Government across the following themes:
- City services
- Transport, roads, and active travel
- Hospitals and healthcare
- Economic Development
- Housing
- Education, community, and recreation
Specifically, we call on the Government to address the following key priorities:
- Establish a Belconnen Renewal Authority.
- Secure the Belconnen Bus Transitway.
- Enhance and expand the Northside Hospital.
- Deliver education to the Belconnen Town Centre.
- Commit to the Canberra Stadium remaining in Bruce.
These recommendations reflect our goal to advocate for Belconnen to be the district of choice for work, life, study, and play in the ACT.
