The Belconnen Community Council is running a survey to find out what young people (age 12 to 25) in the Belconnen district believe are the most important issues affecting our community, and what changes they believe would make the Belconnen district a better place to live, work, and study.

We want to give young people in the Belconnen district a platform to express their needs, concerns, and aspirations, and help inform our advocacy on local policy and community programs.

Take our 2024 youth survey here to share your voice! Your input will directly influence our efforts to make Belconnen a better place for everyone, as well as help us plan our 2025 activities.

What’s next?

The BCC has partnered with Capital Region Community Services to establish an annual youth survey and youth forum. This will provide a regular opportunity for young people to be actively involved in shaping the future of our community.

Our current plans for 2025 include:

  • A survey early-2025 to find out what issues matter to young people.
  • A forum mid-2025 for young people to discuss the survey results and issues in more depth, and directly communicate their perspectives and ideas to community leaders and relevant government stakeholders.
  • Following these activities, a summary report including the ideas, thoughts, and suggestions raised will be written, circulated, and used to advocate on behalf of young people with the ACT Government.

How to Get Involved

  • Schools: Encourage student participation in the survey and forum. Facilitate
survey distribution and provide support for students to attend the forum.
  • Stakeholders: Partner with the BCC to promote the survey and forum, and
contribute resources or expertise to the project.
  • Young people: Participate in the survey, attend the forum, and voice your ideas and
concerns to help shape the future of Belconnen.

Join us in shaping the future of Belconnen—your participation can make a difference!
